It was always our goal to expand the services we provide to Grand Rapids seniors and their families, and The Oaks at Byron Center is the realization of that goal
Trilogy Health Services, a provider of senior living services in over 110 communities across the Midwest, literally rolled out the red carpet to welcome 40 residents into their new home, The Oaks at Byron Center, this past Wednesday. This move is the culmination of a journey that began in 2017, when Trilogy acquired what was then Heather Hills Care Center, a 60-bed skilled nursing facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Renamed The Oaks at Cascade, Heather Hills Care Center became Trilogy’s twelfth senior living community in Michigan. Upon taking ownership of Heather Hills, Trilogy immediately went to work establishing its trademark culture of compassion and servant leadership at the campus. Simultaneously, the provider began construction on a brand-new building – what would be The Oaks at Cascade’s replacement – The Oaks at Byron Center. On Wednesday, residents who pulled up to the campus were greeted by an enormous sign outside that read, “Welcome Home.” Inside, employees showered them with leis, cheers, and plenty of excited grins which, despite their masks, could easily be seen.
“It was always our goal to expand the services we provide to Grand Rapids seniors and their families, and The Oaks at Byron Center is the realization of that goal,” commented Leigh Ann Barney, Trilogy’s President and CEO. “Our residents have been more than excited to move to their new home, as have our team members. While we have always been proud of the services we offered at The Oaks at Cascade, The Oaks at Byron Center is truly a cut above. Our residents will be able to enjoy more amenities, more space, and more of everything that makes Trilogy a place where family comes to live. I’m looking forward to watching this campus family grow.”
While The Oaks at Cascade offered Skilled Nursing Services, The Oaks at Byron Center has added Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care services to the campus’ continuum of care. By offering multiple service lines in one, two-story location, Trilogy Senior Living Communities allow residents to age in place. Instead of moving to a different community as their needs change, those who live at The Oaks at Byron Center can find the care they need right in their current home.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Trilogy Health Services has also taken steps to mitigate the spread of the virus at its communities. This has included rolling out the Trilogy SHIELD Program through their relationship with the 3M™ Commercial Solutions Division. High-touch surfaces at Trilogy Senior Living Communities are disinfected twice per day, using the highest quality disinfection tools available to the industry – capable of identifying and eliminating pathogens within minutes. Trilogy has also equipped its employees with appropriate personal protective equipment, and is abiding by guidance issued by the CDC, CMS, and state and local officials.
Trilogy Health Services communities offer a full range of personalized senior living services, from independent and assisted living to skilled nursing and rehabilitative services in over 110 senior living communities throughout Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan.
